Features a well-hatted and goateed fellow smoking a meerschaum pipe and enjoying a stein of beer. Near the bottom of the print appear the words, "Brewery cor. Ansel & Hough Aves. Cleveland, Ohio." At bottom in very, very small lettering, the publisher is identified: "Copyright 1880, Wittemann Bros. Impt. of Art Lithographs, New York."
Notes: The Schmidt & Hoffmann Brewery was founded in 1852 and became the Cleveland Brewing Company in 1887. In 1897, the company joined the conglomerate of breweries known as the Cleveland & Sandusky Brewing Company. The plant ceased brewing beer at the onset of National Prohibition.
