Notes: A short history of the Bartholomay Brewing Company from the 1903 book, One Hundred Years of Brewing: "The Bartholomay Brewing Company, Rochester, originated in the little plant founded in that city by Philip Will and Henry Bartholomay, in 1852. In 1857 the partnership was dissolved, Mr. Will starting an independent business and Mr. Bartholomay continuing the one already established. In 1874 the Bartholomay Brewing Company was incorporated, with the founder as president and his son, William, then twenty years of age, as superintendent. Since then the business has greatly expanded."
